Today’s Tasty Tuesday is on Mindset. Mindset is one of the most important aspects of health, because the mindset you have towards nutrition, your body, and how you fuel yourself, will create a lasting effect on the choices you make in regards to food, daily and as a lifestyle.
Mindset, concerning health, is the intentional setting of a mental perspective that revolves around growth and learning. This is not a mentality of good or bad, black or white, but one that allows you to fuel yourself in a way that optimizes all aspects of your health.
What does it mean to have a growth mentality?
Believe you can improve your health and gym performance through the daily food choices you make
Having an openness to new information and curiosity to learn in regards to nutrition
Honesty with yourself about your obstacles and weaknesses, then making the choice to face them head on
Focus on the process of living a healthy lifestyle instead of a end result
Choose to learn the correct information, rather than looking for the quick and easy route - learning well, instead of learning fast!
See challenges and failures for what they are, growth. The growth mindset is about taking the chance to try, fail, and learn something new from the challenge.
Nutrition requires a process of trial and error. We are all individuals made completely different so this process will look unique to everyone. Yet, in order to truly know what works best, we have to be willing to try new things, be okay with it when it doesn’t always work, learn, and continue on. This growth mindset may be the key that drives your success.
